Dropped Vase IV – River Crossing (2020) is a unique, hand-formed ceramic piece from Ulli Knall's "Dropped Vases" series. The sculptural vase addresses the moment of transition – between security and uncertainty, between stability and flow. Like a figure on the shore, it appears to pause before daring to take the symbolic step across the water.
The deliberate deformation, cracking, and movement in the material speak of inner tension and the courage to let go. A ceramic work full of metaphor, physicality, and quiet drama – between object, narrative, and vessel art.
